Bus carrying Norman students involved in a rollover accident in Texas

A bus carrying 27 girls from the Cleveland Elementary School to Norman was involved in an accident that occurred about 100 km northwest of Austin on Saturday.

The Lampasas police told KOCO that a bus had overturned and struck a fence separating US Highway 281 from an airport at 3:18 pm.

Police in Lampasas said that there did not seem to be any deaths, but some injured were reported.

All students are taken to hospitals in the area.

The Lampasas police said that she keeps track of the hospital where every child is sent and will inform the parents.

The Norman Public School District has issued the following statement:

On Saturday afternoon, two buses were carrying fifth grade students from Cleveland Elementary Elementary School during an annual visit to SeaWorld. A bus carrying female students was involved in an accident in Lampasas, Texas. As a precaution, all students involved in the accident were transported to nearby medical facilities. Two people are treated for life-threatening injuries. District officials were in close communication with the students' parents and local law enforcement. Student safety is our top priority and we are grateful for the emergency responders who responded quickly. We will provide additional information as soon as it is available.
