BYU ranks ahead of all colleges and universities of Utah in its new national report

SALT LAKE CITY – A new report has identified the best colleges in Utah.

What happened: A new WalletHub report ranked the country's top colleges and universities according to a number of factors, including student selectivity, cost, funding and career prospects.

This is how Utah colleges ranked nationally:

  1. Brigham Young-Provo University (57th overall)
  2. University of Utah (146th in total)
  3. State University of Utah (492nd in total)

Here's a better breakdown of each school, according to WalletHub's email to Deseret News.

  • Brigham Young University had the best admission rate among all Utah schools, as well as the highest graduation rate and median post-attendance salary.
  • University of Utah had the best student / faculty ratio and the highest diversity of gender and racial diversity among Utah colleges and universities.
  • University of Utah State had the highest net cost and the lowest crime on campus among colleges and universities in Utah. But the school had the lowest admission rate compared to Utah schools.

In the west: The report also broke down all universities and colleges by region. Schools in Utah have been ranked in the West region. Here is the breakdown:
