DETROIT – General Motors has built one of the most exclusive, most impenetrable and expensive cars in the world to transport the world's most important person free.

The secret services will give some information, but the company does not want to talk about it.

"We can not comment on that," Cadillac spokesman Andrew Lipman said in an email.

So, what's the big secret? This is the new limousine of President Donald Trump that Cadillac has built, called "The Beast".

The US secret service, in an email to the Detroit Free Press, confirmed that on September 17, a new armored limousine made its debut in the presidential limousine fleet. An agent confirmed that the Cadillac built in 2018 is being used in New York this week, shuttling between Trump and the UN General Assembly. He has a double version that travels in Trump's procession.

The secret service on Monday published a photo of two new limousines on Twitter with the line "The secret service is ready to enter #UNGA 2018!" the agency wrote.

"This vehicle, a 2018 Cadillac, continues the secret service legacy of delivering state-of-the-art technology and performance to its mission of protection," said Jeffrey Adams, Special Agent and Spokesman for the Secret Service.

GM won contracts worth $ 15.8 million for two phases of the limo's development from 2014 to 2017, Reuters reported, citing federal procurement files. He stated that it was unclear whether this figure included all costs, noting that in 2010, GM had won a $ 35 million secret service contract for more presidential limousines .

He first won the contract for the new limousine in 2014 after Ford chose not to bid, Reuters said. Since the early 1980s, the presidential limousine was a Cadillac, but before that, it was a Lincoln.

The previous version of the presidential limo began in January 2009, ahead of Barack Obama. In a 2015 episode titled "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," Obama told Jerry Seinfeld that it was "a Caddy basically on a tank".

Obama went on to tell Seinfeld that he could call "a nuclear submarine" from the car, and joked that his best feature was the seat heaters.

Trump is expected to get a new presidential limousine later this year. Everything is reinforced from the roof to the steps of the tire to ensure the safety of the president and his passengers.

The limousine can hold about ten people, but surprisingly, do not expect leather seats for the president. The chair's bench is covered with a dark blue fabric, reported reports said. A folding desk separates the chair from a companion seat.

Here's what makes it even cooler:

The outer armor would be 8 inches thick, giving its doors the same weight as a Boeing 757. Its bullet-proof windows are 5 inches thick and its tires almost the size A bus can roll flat to keep the Beast in motion if needed, according to reports. The interior is completely sealed to protect occupants against chemical attack. There is even a special foam that would surround the fuel tank to protect it during an impact. And, as Obama told Seinfeld, he also has extensive electronic communications equipment, according to reports.

One more thing, he has his own plane. The secret service uses a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft to fly The Beast, a second limousine and a heavily armored Chevrolet Suburban communications SUV, nicknamed Roadrunner, for the president's travels. Roadrunner would be a wheeled communications office directly connected to a military satellite.
