Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) Has received numerous threats because some Republicans – including President Donald Trump – blame him for trying to thwart Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court.

Prosecutors said Thursday that Shaver, who had been convicted in 1991 for robbery, had attempted to threaten a crime and accused him of being a criminal in illegal possession of a revolver. He could be sentenced to more than three years in prison.

It was not clear if Shaver had a lawyer.

Feinstein is the largest Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee. She has been threatened and abused because some Republicans accuse her of wanting to prevent the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

An appeal to a Feinstein spokesperson was not immediately dismissed.
