Not afraid, citizens – the California law enforcement apparatus has apprehended or is on the trail of more than a dozen hardened criminals who have stolen boldly the state's favorite local business: Apple . Their unreasonable thief amounted to over a million dollars of stolen devices in Apple Stores – the equivalent of hundreds iPhones.
The alleged thieves would wear hoodies in the Apple stores – already suspicious, I know – and there they would expose products and hide them in the large pockets of these clothes. Really tricky.
These crimes took place in 19 different counties in California, whose police forces collaborated to bring those responsible to justice, although the departments of San Luis Obispo and Oakland led the charge. Up to now, seven of the thieves have been arrested and nine others have been sentenced.
In a press release, Xavier Becerra, California's Attorney General, harangued his statement about the dangers of the criminal element:
Organized retail theft costs millions of California business owners and exposes them to illicit criminals. In the end, consumers pay the cost of this diversion of goods. We will continue our work with local law enforcement authorities to extinguish this popular mentality and prosecute these criminals to hold them accountable.
Do you hear that, potential imitators? Do you hear that, gather the crowd? Xavier will give it to you … if you do not fly directly and stop trying to stick ordinary consumers to the costs of your crimes. Not to mention California companies. Apple pays $ 15 billion in back taxes, there is not much money to spend on these shenanigans.
Well, I guess it's okay.
I asked Apple to comment on this case and if it had participated or cooperated. Maybe the identification of the face helped.
