A California woman missing after a hike in Kings Canyon National Park Friday was found alive, officials said.

Diane Salmon, 63, of Lafayette, was "found alive and well" Sunday, confirmed the National Parks Service at Fox News. She was reported missing on Friday after being last seen on Bishop Pass Road earlier in the day.

Salmon, who was hiking with two members of his family and planned to cross Bishop Pass to go out to South Lake, in the Inyo National Forest, about 160 km northeast of Fresno, later in the Friday night, was spotted by other hikers.

RESEARCH IN NATIONAL PARKS, RESCUE COSTS MILLIONS, NUMBERS

Park services reported that more than 50 people had searched for salmon and had received support from the Inyo County Sheriff's Office and the Yosemite National Park Search and Rescue Center.

"We are all satisfied with the conclusion of this search and rescue operation," said the commander in charge of the incident, Tom Parrack, in a press release. "Visitors should be reminded that many of these incidents result from the separation of groups and that it is therefore safer to travel together."
