Customers of a California donut shop would apparently do everything in their power to help the store owner and his wife, who recently had an aneurysm.

John and Stella Chhan worked together at the Donut City counter in Seal Beach for years before his health problem arose, KCBS reported.

John, whose wife is recovering at a drug rehab center, returns home every day when the store's donut stock runs out, depending on the point of sale. And his customers would have joined forces to buy his goods, which would allow him to close shop as quickly as possible.

"Come support this guy's donuts," said one client, KCBS reported. "He is a great man, a great cause."

Supporters of the effort shared the story of the Chhans and encouraged people to buy donuts by the dozen, KCBS reported.

"I appreciate it a lot," said John, in a climate of appreciation, to Fox 11 for the dedication and support of the community.

As for his wife, she seems to be healing and "is better", he added.
