CHERRY HILL, New Jersey – Camden County seniors will have their first chance to get the flu shot at the annual Camden County Citizens' Health Fair, county officials said Tuesday. The fair is scheduled for Thursday, October 4, from 10 am to 2 pm. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 2349 Marlton Pike in Cherry Hill. The Senior Health Fair will feature dozens of health information tables, games, prizes and a luncheon for all seniors who will attend the event.

"In order to keep your family healthy during the flu season, we encourage you to take advantage of this beneficial service provided by the council," said Carmen Rodriguez, Camden Health and Social Services Liaison Officer. . "We are hosting vaccination sites in convenient locations throughout Camden County, including the annual Crowne Plaza Health Show."

Rodriguez explained that the launch of the flu vaccination program is traditionally coordinated with the seniors' health fair, as men and women aged 65 and over are among the "priority" groups for annual vaccines. Flu vaccines are provided at no cost, but Mr. Rodriguez reminded seniors who were receiving Medicare to bring their Medicare ID.
