The drama surrounding the 2019 NBA season has begun to heat up well before the start of the 2018 regular season. And the latest news in the news that has been in the news is Kyrie Irving, a Boston Celtics star.

Shortly after Irving revealed that he would sign with the Celtics during the upcoming off season, Athletic's Jay King quoted, the guard could also recruit the star of the pelicans of New Orleans, Anthony Davis. Courtesy of Bleacher's report:

Irving spoke to the TD Garden crowd on Thursday night before the Celtics pre-season game and outlined his plan for the fan base. As Jay King of The Athletic detailed it, it was a fairly simple question that deserved to be celebrated.

"If you want me to come back," I told the crowd, "I plan to sign back here next year."

Could Anthony Davis talk to the Celtics?

King has presented an interesting scenario that suggests the possibility that the pelican star is potentially displaced. If Davis refused an extension of the team next summer, a potential exchange would then make sense. New Orleans will not want to lose one of the NBA's talents without picking up something in return.

It's unclear if this is a realistic option, and there is no clear answer to what the 25-year-old will do, but Celtics fans must be salivating on the purchase from him. Davis playing alone alongside Irving and Jayson Tatum is enough to let your mind wander to an NBA championship.
