On the first day of legal cannabis sales in Canadian retail stores, a 9-year-old female guide had the chance to make money.

Elina Childs, from Edmonton, and her father showed up at Nova Cannabis on Wednesday, pulling a car full of cookies, CBC reported.
Elina sold the 30 boxes in less than 45 minutes, earning $ 120.
"I was amazed at how quickly they went," Elina's father, Seann Childs, told CBC. "Even the people in the cars driving on the avenue stopped, lowered the window and asked for cookies."
Elina told CTV News Channel that it was her father's idea to sell the cookies. Childs said it had the idea after learning that a San Diego Girl Scout had used a similar marketing ploy in February after the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes in California, CBC reported. This girl sold 312 boxes of cookies in a few hours during the Super Bowl weekend.

Elina has cystic fibrosis and can not usually be close to smokers, but Childs sees it as a chance for her daughter to take advantage of marijuana smokers.
"We saw it as an opportunity to educate her on what marijuana is and on the fact that it's legal in Canada now," Childs told CBC. "All the people we met were incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was excellent and nothing was going on in this queue, I just said," Oh, my God, I have to protect you from the eyes. "
"Everyone was respectful, everyone was happy, and she went as an incredibly positive experience and sold all her Brownie cookies." She can go and be happy to have done that and help support the guides too. "
