Nicki Minaj and Cardi B fought at an evening of New York Fashion Week on Friday night, wounding Cardi B.

A person who witnessed the incident and requested anonymity because she was not allowed to speak publicly told The Associated Press that Minaj was finishing a conversation with a person when Cardi B attempted to 'attack.

A video that circulates on social networks shows Cardi B heading to someone and who is being held at the Harper's Bazaar Icons party on Friday night. Cardi B allegedly threw one of his shoes to Minaj. Another video shows the platinum rapper "Bodak Yellow" escorted out of the event by security.

Cardi B, dressed in a voluminous red Dolce & Gabanna dress, was seen leaving the party barefoot with what appeared to be a lump on the head.

She and Minaj have been rap rivals since Cardi B began to experience tremendous success over the last year.

In a post on Instagram, Cardi B did not call Minaj by name but alluded to the fight and said that she had been fired because her maternal skills were being disparaged. She and rapper Offset recently had their first child together, a girl.

Minaj has not commented on the incident yet.

Fans quickly took advantage of social media, with some expressing support for Cardi B.

"Nicki Minaj must realize that she can not be the queen of rap forever, she's been there for over 10 years, she should understand Cardi B's time and let her shine," A Twitter user said. "Cardi B has blocked the global music industry – no explanation can stop Cardi's fame."

"Everyone quickly calls the ghetto and ratchet of Cardi B saying that she could never be chic like Nicki but she NEVER said she wanted to be," said another. "She always preached never to change to ANY person, so either love her or hate her."

"Cardi finally broke down after a year of secret and public intimidation – and now, is she the wrong person? another tweet. "There are so many things that a person will take in. Especially when she is just exploding, she's doing her best, jealousy is a mean trait of me."

Others have shown their support for Minaj.

"I think Cardi wanted to put his hands on Nicki, so she justified her actions by using" she talked about my child "as an excuse. A Twitter user said.

"You can honestly say who grew up, if you honestly think that what Cardi did was acceptable, block me because you're childish and ignorant, and you'll probably end up in jail," said another user.

Some thought that they were both wrong.

"My opinion on the cardiometer b against Nicki minaj: both are wrong Cardi b is too impulsive Nicki minaj should not talk (explode) of the cardiometer B" A Twitter user said. "Girls should support each other, not tear each other apart"

"Both Nicki and Cardi are rubbish, so …"

And others just laughed at the situation.

"Nicki dodging Cardi B's shoe at #NYFW," tweeted a video of Lil & # 39; Kim dancing.

"We can expect Nicki and Cardi's upcoming albums to be full of tea," tweeted another.
