Cardi B and shift took spontaneity to a whole new level – they married on a whim … as in, the day he asked her to marry him.

Sources close to the couple say to TMZ … Migos The rapper woke up one September morning, watched rapper "Bodak Yellow" in the eyes and said, "Marry me." She obviously said yes but, believe it or not, this impulse was only the beginning.

We are told that the same day, Offset and Cardi – who, at that time, we did not know that she was carrying the child of Offset – hired an officiant to come home and marry them in their room. The only person other than the celebrant to attend the wedding was Cardi's cousin.

It was such an unpredictable decision, that there was obviously no time for an engagement ring, let alone for an alliance. This brings us to the "Public commitment"In October, we were told that it was NOT Offset that was offering Cardi, it was the promise to keep his promise to Cardi and make it tick, as we had announced for the first time … at that time they had been married for at least a month.

As for why Offset does not flaunt a wedding band … our sources say that it will get one and wear it once there will be a ceremony of official marriage, which we are told will occur after Cardi pops.
