Musical reality TV with a hip-hop angle does not have a long history, and there are basically only two things that really matter: Make the group walking to get him a cheesecake, and the other time he asked an entirely new group of adult men to be singed for his amusement. The streaming service has announced that its first series of music competitions would be Rhythm + flow, which should not be confused with that of 2005 Hustle & FlowA film that also speaks about rap and competition in its own way. Amateur rappers will be competing to attract attention – Netflix has not indicated which winning / celebrity / competition winning contracts will arrive – in front of a panel of established judges. Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, and T.I will be the key judges in the series, accompanied by rappers from each city in the series, as well as other artists and industry types.

Auditions for the show begin this fall and will be held across the United States. Rhythm + flow debuted with episodes of ten hours in 2019.
