As the cold weather approaches, rapper Cardi B has gone to Brooklyn to distribute free coats.
The 26-year-old Bronx native was invaded by hundreds of fans and residents on Thursday when she donated coats to Marlboro Houses in Brooklyn's Gravesend neighborhood.
The coats were donated by Daniel's Leather, reported amNewYork, adding that the singer of "Bodak Yellow" had also given shoes.
"It's fine, it's fine that she does this for people, really, because we here need a lot of help," said a woman at WABC.
The Grammy nominated rapper told WABC that she was not expecting mass participation.
"I did not know it was going to be so big," she says. "My boyfriend Chuck, he said to me," Hey, give out coats to our community, I know someone who wants to distribute coats to Marlboro "and I said," I'm going out , what's going on? "
Cardi B recently celebrated his 26th birthday and gave birth to his first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus, with rapper Offset in July.
