Cardi B officially responded to Nicki Minaj's comments on their recent altercation at an evening at New York Fashion Week. After Minaj called the incident "mortifying and humiliating" during her Beats show 1 Queen Radio, Cardi B approached the problem in an interview with W Magazine.

"For some time she has been shooting me a lot," she says of Minaj. "I talked to him twice before and we got along. But she continued like that.

Cardi originally posted a statement on Instagram the day after the evening in which she pointed out that her problem with Minaj stemmed from the Queen The rapper questions his skills as a parent of his daughter, Kulture, which Minaj denied.

"I've left a lot of things slipping!" Writes Cardi. "But when you talk about my child, you choose to love the comments about me as a mother, to comment on my abilities to take care of my daughter, that's when all the bets are valid"

She also emphasized this point in the interview. "I was going to win millions of dollars during my tour of Bruno Mars and I sacrificed it to stay with my daughter. I love my daughter. I'm a good mom, said Cardi. "So many people want to say that this party was not the place or the time, but I'm not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or on the streets."

"I will never ridicule anyone's child. [It’s] so sad for someone to pin it on someone, "Minaj said on Queen Radio. "I would never talk about the child or the parenting of anyone … these lies are ridiculous."

A Cardi B representative did not respond to TIME's request for this item.
