Cardinals and Bradford try to bounce back against Rams

The quarterbacks, who have been the Rams' most important choice in their respective NFL projects, will face off when the Los Angeles Rams face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Rams and quarterback Jared Goff are confident after a solid second period in their 33-13 win over the Oakland Raiders on Monday night. And even with the short week, they are strongly favored over the Cardinals, who have done very little in a disappointing 24-6 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was largely charged, leading to controversy early in the season if he was replaced by Josh Rosen, the team's first-round selection this year.

Bradford completed 20 of his 34 passes for the Cardinals, but for just 153 yards, with no touchdowns and interceptions.

"I think he's a little disappointed with his performance, as most of these guys in this locker room are, and they should be," said Wednesday Cardinals coach Steve Wilks. "The way he came back today, with the other guys, gives me a lot of hope, I say it all the time, we have a lot of talent in this locker room, but the character is what is going support us .

For his first five seasons in the NFL, Bradford was a member of former St. Louis Rams, who made him the first pick in the 2010 draft.

This is the first time that he will face the team that recruited him, but Bradford does not get much out of it.

"Not really," he says. "I think if it had happened earlier in my career, maybe there would be more, but the staff there is completely different, there were only a handful of guys on that list when I was there – a lot of connection that is always there for me. "

Bradford did not help much in his first game, as David Johnson, who recently signed a $ 39 million three-year contract extension, had 37 yards on nine carries.

Bradford will remain the starter this week and the Cardinals will face a stellar Rams defense. The Rams shut out the Raiders in the second half and even scored a touchdown on Marcus Peters' 50-yard interception return.

"They're really talented, I think when you look at them on paper, they're probably one of the most talented units in the league," Bradford said. "The way they played the second half last week was very good."

This defense made things easier for Goff, the # 1 pick in the 2016 draft.

Rams midfielder Todd Gurley, who ran 1,305 yards last season while claiming the All-Pro title, rushed for 108 yards in the opening game as Los Angeles made a disappointing start.
