LOS ANGELES – Changes in the lineup of the Arizona Cardinals could come next week after losing to the Los Angeles Rams 34-0, coach Steve Wilks said after the game.
"I'm not going to sit here and say right after the game what we're going to do from a staff point of view," Wilks said. "But I'll say it, everyone will be evaluated."
This could include the quarterback.
Sam Bradford continued to struggle in his second game with Arizona, passing 17-for-27 for 90 yards and an interception when Arizona was ruled out for the first time since losing 33-0 to Rams last season in London.
The footage was the smallest of his career during which he played the entire game, and his 243 yards this season are the lowest in two games of his career.
But Wilks did not consider replacing Bradford on Sunday with rookie quarterback Josh Rosen, the coach said.
"Well, I think when we look at the climate of the game and how it went, I do not know if it was going to make a major difference there because, again, it was not a guy" said Wilks. . "There were several sides of the ball in all three phases, again we will evaluate the staff in advance and we will see exactly what we are going to do next week by putting the best on the field."
During his press conference, the assessment was a common theme for Wilks, who became the sixth coach since the merger to lose his first two games by 18 points or more, according to Elias.
The cardinals looked gloomy on all three sides of the balloon. The attack did not hit 100 yards before the fourth quarter. He conceded 432 yards in total – while winning only 137. He also had three first tries in three quarters.
The Cardinals had a lot of trouble in third place this season. They are now 4-in-20 after playing 3-in-12 against Los Angeles.
The change could also come on the defense, which gave up 24 first declines while allowing Todd Gurley, who ran for only 42 yards, scored three touchdowns and Brandin Cooks caught seven passes for 159 yards.
The special teams were also able to see some changes after allowing JoJo Natson to return 155 total yards – 133 in punts and 22 in kicks.
"We have to tackle many issues: the staff, everything, the system," said Wilks. "We will try to do this on Monday."
