The Warriors might not have a glimpse of the Carmelo Anthony era of the Houston Rockets after all.
Anthony and the Rockets have "ongoing" discussions about his role with the team, and whether it can last the rest of the season, Adrian Wojnarowski told ESPN Saturday night. Anthony did not play Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs because of an illness.
While Carmelo Anthony is away tonight due to illness against the Spurs, the Rockets and Anthony are discussing his role and how they could continue together for the rest of the season, close sources told ESPN. The discussions are fluid.

The Rockets reorganized their lineup after losing to the Warriors in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals last spring. Versatile defensemen Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah, a Moute, went on the attack, and Anthony signed with the Rockets for the required minimum after being traded from the Thunder to the Hawks, and released.
Houston has a problem for 11 games, sitting 4-7. Star Guards James Harden and Chris Paul were injured, but the Rockets are in the bottom half of the NBA in terms of offensive and defensive rankings. In the first 10 games of his tenure with Anthony's Rockets, Houston was much better off the field with him than with him.
In 10 games, Carmelo Anthony had more missed shots (72) than field placements, assists, robberies and blocks combined (65).
The rockets are 15.4 points for 100 goods better with him off the field.

The Warriors will play against the Rockets Thursday in Houston. The question of whether or not Carmelo Anthony is suitable is a very real question.
