Carnival did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

In statements to USA Today and South Florida, Sun Sentinel, Carnival said that a "video emitter" had been found in a guest's room and that it had been handed over to FBI.

Carnival stated that the device "was not connected to a power source and was not able to record." But Chris White challenged this in the "Inside Edition" interview.

"It was a camera," he said. "It was plugged in. It worked, it was warm to the touch."

Dana White added, "I immediately felt invaded, our privacy had been invaded."

The couple told the program that they would never set foot on another ship of the Carnival Cruise Line.
