Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will host the CMA Awards next week for the eleventh time.

The pair visited "Good Morning America" on Friday to discuss the organization of the show.

"We're hoping, especially next week, to make everyone laugh, it'll be fun," said Paisley.

After a week of national news including forest fires and shootings, he said: "Everyone is just trying to shake each other."

Both men are known for their changing outfits and jokes on stage, and they said this year would be no different.

"Getting together, writing the script" is important to the process, said Underwood.

"Finding our characters was a big problem, finding out who we are in. It's different from what we are necessarily with other people, and being able to write it ourselves has been a big problem, and we have a big role to play in this regard, "Paisley said.

Underwood is expecting her second child and says that she has not told Paisley about the baby's sex after he revealed this information live on stage in 2014.

"I did not even tell Brad," she says.

"She knows better," he says.

The CMA Awards must be broadcast at 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 14 on ABC. This year is the 52nd edition of the annual celebration of the biggest stars of country music.
