Carrie Underwood presents Jimmy Fallon in "Name That Song"

Carrie Underwood has a new album to promote, Cry Pretty, and as part of her promotional tour, she stopped at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Thursday (9/13) night. She of course took the time to talk about her new music, but also showed her chops identifying the compositions of the other musicians.

Host Fallon pitted Underwood and actors Blake Lively and Henry Golding against a part of "Name That Song". The game involves Fallon's band, The Roots, which plays clean versions of popular songs, one instrument at a time, with whoever guesses the composition in the first place.

Underwood has been paired with Golding, which is not surprising. She jumped immediately to identify "Toxic" by Britney Spears, and corrected Fallon when he misinterpreted a Rick Astley hit – Fallon guessed "Together Forever" when the song was "Never Gonna Give You Up". (Fallon joked that he'd been "Rickrolled" when Underwood showed him.)

Underwood, 35, released his sixth studio album at midnight on September 14, and it's a more mature album that shows a colorful range of emotions, as well as considerable technical and vocal stretching. The pregnant star of her second child will leave for her Cry Pretty 360 Tour next year alongside the openers Runaway June and Maddie & Tae.
