Nearly a year after suffering a terrible accident that caused her to waste time, Carrie Underwood proudly shows her scars. The country superstar shared a selfie on her Instagram account Friday, in which she gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the colorful make-up that she rocked in her "Love Wins" clip, pulling her hair back so that fans can have a look at his scar in his face.

The selfie is one of Underwood's first glimpses of the scars resulting from her fall in November 2017, although she was open about her fight for recovery from the incident. In April, the singer began sharing snapshots of her rehearsals and her studio time, showing the wounded side of her face for the first time. Shortly after, Underwood returns to the front of the stage with a powerful performance of his single "Cry Pretty" at the 2018 ACM Awards. And despite being away from the spotlight, Underwood seems to be stronger than ever at the moment, with "Love Wins" blowing up the charts and her album, Cry Pretty, reach position # 1 on the Billboard 200.
Despite all his musical success, Underwood was incredibly open to the fact that it was difficult for him to return to the spotlight after his fall. In November, the singer stumbled on the steps outside her home in Nashville, suffering from "multiple wounds".
A few months later, Underwood revealed to Twitter: "In addition to breaking my wrist, I managed to hurt my face, I'm sparing you horrible details, but when I got out of the surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike [her husband, Mike Fisher] that he had made 40 to 50 stitches. Now, here we are 7 weeks later, and even though the best people help me, I still heal and I do not look exactly the same way. "
In April, she explained a little more about the incident in an interview at Bobby's bones podcast, saying, "I went to catch myself and I just missed a step. If I had fallen elsewhere, I would have been perfectly fine. But there was a step that ruined everything. Underwood also explained how much she had struggled to endure a wounded arm, explaining that she "could divert your world, that her appendix was there, but that you could not use it".
