Carson City Disaster Test Offers Influenza Vaccines

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) – Carson City health officials will hold a flu shot clinic Saturday as part of an effort to put their emergency response plan into practice .

The event offering $ 20 flu shots at Carson City's DMV parking from 9 am to noon on Saturday is open to all.

The city's health and social services department is working with first responders, emergency management, public works and the sheriff's office to test the city's ability to dispense drugs in the event of a disaster.

The sponsors say that no one will be refused for inability to pay. The cost can be billed to Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurance companies.
