Carson Daly affectionately embarrassed his friends and co-stars, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, as he accepted an award on stage for their work on "The Voice".

Daly, 45, and Shelton, 42, took the stage at E! People's Choice Awards 2018 on Sunday where they won a victory for the long-running singing contest series. In his speech, the former host of "TRL" could not help but thank the former coach and friend of Shelton, Stefani, sitting in the audience.

"I want to thank Gwen Stefani before Blake," joked Daly.

"Gwen Stefani, favorite coach of all time," said Shelton. "I love him, I love him."

Daly then took the opportunity to invite Gwen on stage by leading the crowd with a song to her name. Shelton has been helping his girlfriend for almost four years on the scene where Daly has continued to clumsily illuminate their relationship.

"Who would have thought that this country artist could land one of my oldest friends in the music industry?" Said Daly before trying to hand the trophy to Gwen.

"No, what am I doing?" She replied, refusing to accept the prize. "Oh my God, I'm so excited to be with Blake Shelton!"

Shelton then tried to face them after a game of thanks to the crowd, creating a new embarrassing line from Daly.

"They'll have a room," he joked.

Shelton and Stefani started dating shortly after their respective divorce in 2015. The duo met while acting as a coach in "The Voice". Shelton continues to work with the show while Stefani leaves. Daly remains the host of the NBC series.
