In the last few months, most of us have assumed that when Carson Wentz is allowed to play, he will play.
Maybe not.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL network, Wentz may be allowed to contact this week, but that does not necessarily mean he will play in the third week.

"The team is in no hurry to play Wentz and several important and influential voices have preached caution, including owner Jeffrey Lurie."
Lurie has long been a supporter of Nick Foles and his reluctance to bring Wentz back for fear of a new injury makes sense.
But if Foles is a good quarterback, there is a big difference between him and Wentz. For me, when Wentz is ready to play, he should absolutely play. I understand that the further he is from injury, the better his chances of staying healthy, but he will have to play eventually. The Eagles are not going to hold him back all season. And if doctors say he's good and says he's good, why wait?
I guess the Eagles think that they might have to protect Wentz from himself. They are clearly thinking of the future of the franchise, not a game of Week 3 against the Colts.
However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Wentz is about to return to the Colts.

In the last two weeks, Wentz has practiced in a limited way (taking representatives of the Scout team), while Foles gets all the representatives with the offensive of the first team. At the end of the training camp, the two separated.
The report says Wentz "will fight for a chance to play," which should surprise no one who knows anything about the young Eagles quarterback. Originally, he had set a goal for the first week, but he has already missed the first two weeks.
It's been nine months since Wentz tore his ACL and ACL and underwent surgery to repair both.
Before the start of the regular season, Dr. James Bradley, a Wentz surgeon, preached caution at NBC Sports Philadelphia. (see the article). While Bradley does not make the decisions, the Eagles' doctors consult with him.
It was impressive to see Wentz attack his reeducation during the off season. Even at training camp and before warm-up before the matches, he looks very impressive, which makes me think he'll be fine when he gets the green light to go back to action.
