The family is everything for the Affleck family – through good and bad.

During an interview with Keltie Knight from ET to The old man and the gun Press Day at the Viceroy The Hermitage at Beverly Hills on Saturday, Casey Affleck spoke about his brother, Ben's, of his recent return to rehab Justice League The children of star and ex, Jennifer Garner, inspired him to become sober.

"Alcoholism has a huge impact not only on the person, but also on his family, so I think for his child and his mother, he tries to do the work and do it together," he explained. Casey. noting that he and Ben "come from a long line of alcoholics".

"Ben is an addict and an alcoholic, most of my grandparents are alcoholics, my father is an alcoholic, as bad as he can be, and he's been sober for about 30 years, I've been sober for about six years," 43 years old said. "Ben is trying to put it in place, and it can be very difficult to do, he has the kind of resources and time, fortunately, to take the time and go to good facilities."

Garner was photographed driving Ben to his rehab center last month, where he has been recovering for a few weeks. A source recently told ET that "Jen wants nothing more than Ben to devote to her sobriety, she knows that she can only do a lot, and that the process is up to her."

Ben has been photographed during his rehab outings lately, and as Casey noted on Saturday, "it may not be easier to have everyone watching you and taking your picture while you get out of an intervention. " "I do not want that," he added. "I saw my dad struggling for many years and no one was following him with cameras and stuff, it's not a great look, but on the other hand, it's not a shame and it's good to take care of it. "

Casey also took stock of his brother as he spoke with ET at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this week as he worked hard to promote The old man and the gun.

"I think people seemed to like it in the room, it played really well," he told ET on Saturday during the screening of the film at TIFF. "Overall, it was very well received, especially people like Robert Redford … They loved the movie."

The old man and the gun will be released in theaters on September 28th.
