High ranking clergy gather in Germany to examine the findings of a study on sexual scandals within the church.
German Cardinal Reinhard Marx opened the summit by declaring that the issue was now "an important turning point".
He said: "We must do more: listen, understand and take appropriate action".
The new report counted nearly 4,000 sexual assaults in the only German branch of the church between 1946 and 2014.
"We need a different clergy model. In this context, we must also consider the obligation to remain single. "
