The Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer used to the iconic LeBron James banner outside the Sherwin-Williams world headquarters building in downtown Cleveland and now have an official plan to replace it.
On Friday, the Cavs unveiled the new banner that will be hung where LeBron used to be represented doing his patented draw. The new design, to be unveiled next month, includes the sandstone statue of the Guardian of Transportation, one of Cleveland's most iconic landmarks.

A closer look at the new image will show that this is a mosaic of thousands of fan photos showing their pride in the city of Cleveland. Those who want to be part of the new banner can submit their photos to the Cavs' website until September 21st.
"Our goal was to create a significant public art offering to celebrate The Land and all those who support and love this city and this region," said Len Komoroski, CEO of Cavs, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN .com. "Our hope is that it arouses the emotion and the feeling of pride, the community and the celebration of our city in a personal way for those invested in the country."
LeBron's last departure from Cleveland did not spark as much hostility as the first, but the people of Cleveland certainly do not want to see him on a huge banner in downtown. The replacement plan should appease the masses.
