(Reuters) – CBS Corp faces interrogations from New York City and state authorities related to allegations of sexual assault and harassment by former CEO Leslie Moonves Friday evening .
The disclosure of the results of the investigation comes just hours after the first meeting of the new CBS Board of Directors in New York.
The broadcast company and the media received subpoenas from the New York District Attorney's Office and the New York Human Rights Commission regarding allegations against Moonves, CBS News and the company's cultural issues . ly / 2OjogOY.
The Attorney General of the State of New York also asked for information about the allegations, CBS said.
Moonves resigned from CBS in early September after two New Yorker magazine investigations revealed a dozen women who had accused him of harassment or assault.
"The Company may receive future regulatory and related inquiries," CBS said in a regulatory filing. "The company cooperates with the ongoing investigation and related investigations."
CBS refused further comments.
Shortly after the July New Yorker report on Moonves, CBS hired two law firms, Covington & Burling and Debevoise & Plimpton, to investigate these claims. The investigation is underway
