It's time to move on to a new weekly tradition: my NBA teams' Monday power standings, from the defending Golden State Warriors champion to the 30th team.
What would it take for the warriors to fall from the front row? A major injury to a star? Two major injuries? A resurrected Carmelo Anthony who makes the Rockets attack one of the best we've ever seen?
There is not much that can bring down warriors from the top of the mountain. Because even if they go through parts of the season, we can assume that this will be the team to beat once the playoffs started.
These power rankings will be based on the current team record but will not be tied to that. In other words, if the Orlando Magic start the season again with an 8-4 record, I will not put them in my top 10 for that reason. I will use some common sense here. But if an outstanding team is still playing in January, I will reevaluate.
