Major League Baseball announced suspensions after the New York Yankees-Tampa Bay match Thursday for incidents in the sixth inning.

Rays thrower Andrew Kittredge received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for pitching a shot in the Yankees' Austin Romine header area atop the sixth.

The Yankees CC Sabathia pitcher received a five-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing a throw at Jesús Sucre of the Rays while warnings were in place at the bottom of the sixth.

After launching Sabathia in Sucre, he was ejected in the sixth just two rounds to trigger a $ 500,000 incentive bonus. The veteran pitcher of the Yankees chose to appeal.

Both suspensions, if confirmed, must be served at the beginning of the 2019 season. This means that the suspension will not affect Sabathia's availability for the playoffs.
