Childhood vaccination rates in the United States have declined, according to reports from US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding preschool and kindergarten children.
Coverage among preschool children is still about 90% nationwide for major vaccines, but the proportion of unvaccinated two-year-olds has gone from 0, 3% of those surveyed in 2001 to 1.3% of those born in 2015. The global vaccination rate for diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough (administered in one fell swoop) was nearly 86% in 2017 and has increased rapidly.
