The Detroit Pistons are no longer unbeaten.
After an impressive victory in Oklahoma City against the Thunder, the Boston Celtics wandered through Motor City and propelled the Pistons into a 109-89 blast at Little Caesars Arena.
Boston managed to stop the rout despite the combined 13 points of Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and Jayson Tatum. Jaylen Brown led the way with 19 points, while Marcus Morris (18 points), Daniel Theis (17 points), Gordon Hayward (15 points) and Terry Rozier (14 points) also scored in double digits.
The Pistons shot 18% (7 of 37) of 3 points, while the Cs shone 41%.
With this win, the Celtics improve to 4-2, while the Piston drops to 4-1.

STRONG START
The Celtics seemed bright in the first quarter, allowing visitors to maintain a 30-21 lead over the Pistons. Boston did a good job distributing basketball in the first 12 minutes. Five players scored four or more points, highlighted by Brown's seven points. The Detroit offense was out of pace at the start, but Stanley Johnson's 11th quarterback lead allowed his team to stay within range. The Cs also participated in four of their 10 attempts in three points.
FOOT ON GAS
The C's did not falter in the second quarter, allowing them to take a 63-41 lead at the break, which was their highest point total in the first half of the season. As was the routine for the campaign green, he received a boost from his bench by the second. Rozier and Morris combined 15 points while Semi Ojeleye surprised with nine points. Boston's domination in the first half on the glass was equally surprising: she beat Detroit 30-19 despite the presence of André Drummond and Blake Griffin.
LEAD MAINTAINED
The Celtics have regressed after their excellent first period, but the Pistons have failed to take advantage. Although Boston only shot 31% of the peloton in the third quarter, it still managed to take an 84-67 lead in the final period. Hayward scored six with the Cs in the quarter, while Tatum scored five after being limited to one point in the first half. The Pistons relied on their starters in the third, while Drummond and Reggie Jackson combined for 13 points.
SPEED REGULATOR
The Pistons have never really had a chance in this one. With considerable lead time, the Celtics have taken the luxury of letting most of their starters rest in the final quarter. Detroit did not even nearly flirt with a return, though, as Boston emptied his bench and headed for a win on the road.
GAME PLAY
Robert Williams III marked the first points of his career in the NBA emphatically.
