Governor Charlie Baker has stated that he expects a "full and independent review" by the US Attorney in an allegation of sexual misconduct against his 27-year-old son.

"Look, I love my son," Baker said Monday morning. "But this review must be done by the US Attorney's Office, a J. must cooperate, and we think that's what will happen."

WBZ first reported Friday night that an adult female passenger told authorities that "Andrew" A.J. " Baker groped his chest during a JetBlue flight from Washington, DC, to Boston on Wednesday. No charges have been filed.

The first Republican governor said Monday that he could not talk at length about the alleged incident, but stressed that his office would not be involved in the investigation.

"A J. is, of course, to cooperate on any review of the matter, and my family and I expect a thorough review," said Baker. "We also expect the review to be fair and completely independent of this office. State authorities are not involved in this case. And we look forward to a comprehensive and independent review by the US Attorney's Office. "

Baker called the allegations "serious," but declined to go into details, citing the permanent nature of the review. He also declined to say what his son told him about the alleged incident.

"You know, it's personal," Baker said. "And again, there's an investigation going on here, and this ongoing investigation must be conducted by the US Attorney's Office, and UN J. will cooperate."

On Friday, JetBlue issued a statement saying that the crew of Flight 1354 had been warned "of an incident between customers shortly before landing in Boston," according to The Boston Globe.

"The plane landed around 11 pm local time when it was met by local authorities," reads the statement.

ONE J. is the second oldest of the three children of the 61-year-old governor. He graduated from Union College in 2016.
