If you are a Spectrum TV customer, get ready for higher rates.
"We have informed customers and franchise officials that, starting in November, the rates for certain Spectrum services and equipment are being modified," said Patti Michel, spokesperson for Charter Communications, which operates the brand. Spectrum. "The new rates will affect all markets."
This adjustment will be an increase. For a customer with a full range of Spectrum services, this could be an additional $ 7.61 per month.
What are the new rates?
Michel said the new rates and charges would be:
• The TV broadcast surtax will increase from $ 8.85 to $ 9.95 / month, Charter said, "This reflects the costs incurred by local television stations."
• Spectrum receivers will increase from $ 6.99 to $ 7.50 / month.
• $ 54.99 to $ 59.99 / month increase for Spectrum Internet for existing Spectrum TV subscribers.
• Spectrum Internet increases from $ 64.99 to $ 65.99 / month for current customers who do not subscribe to Spectrum TV.
Michel said that Charter does not generally publish statistics on the number of customers in a particular market, such as that of Asheville, North Carolina.
With regard to the increases, Michel explained that the reasons varied, but that the broadcasting surcharge "reflected the costs borne by the local television channels.
"The price of Spectrum Internet reflects the considerably faster speeds and investments we have made in terms of reliability and quality," said Michel. "Earlier this year, we doubled the initial download speed of Spectrum Internet from 100 to 200 megabits per second, and the price of our receivers is still comparable to or lower than our main competitors."
