The Nantes defender went to the Club America teenager after a second halftime foul, which sparked a firework fire between the two parties
The United States national team beat Mexico 1-0 in Nashville on Tuesday night with a goal from Tyler Adams, but it was Matt Miazga that sparked the night's fireworks.
As North American rivals competed in the 65th minute, Miazga met promising Mexican midfielder Diego Lainez, prompting both teams to meet.
It started when Miazga and Lainez chased a ball over the top. The Nantes defender, loaned by Chelsea, won and was the victim of a foul from the Club America teenager.
The two players clashed, Miazga then signaling to Lainez, much smaller, the size of the teenager.
Mexican striker Angel Zaldivar immediately placed himself between the two teams. USMNT goalkeeper Zack Steffen was also selected.
Miazga moved away, but continued to laugh at Lainez's height through a group of players, prompting Mexican defender Edson Alvarez to bump up his counterpart at the USMNT.
The referees ignited again, the linesman and referee had to break the fractures, but the only yellow card was given to Alvarez. Miazga had already taken a precaution earlier in the competition.
The tensions did not diminish, however, when the game resumed a few moments later.

Ualdivar was quickly shown his running orders for a tackle on midfielder Wil Trapp after coming in nails over the ball on the US midfielder.
Adams will score the only goal of the match four minutes after the red card.
After the match, Lainez tried to play the incident, telling reporters: "It's something that happens in football." A little break-in. It's nothing. It's something complitly normal."
Miazga acknowledged that it was not something extraordinary, but felt that the situation had destabilized Mexican players.
"It's normal, we talked a little bit," Miazga told reporters. "That's part of the game. It's mental warfare. We had in their heads, they had a red card right after that and you saw what happened … won the game."
This is the second time in as many games as an American defender has made the front row with his comments to an opposition player.

Right-back DeAndre Yedlin was seen in the USMNT's 2-0 loss to Brazil, questioning the referee's decision to call him foul on striker Neymar.
After being whistled, Yedlin asked the referee "Have you watched the World Cup" in connection with the notorious dramatic falls of Neymar during the tournament in Russia.
Neymar responded later, saying that he did not care because he did not know who Yedlin was.
