Former Saturday Night Live star Chevy Chase criticized the night show and creator Lorne Michaels in an interview published Wednesday for "the worst humor in the world".
Addressing the Washington Post, Chase, 74, one of SNL's original cast members, said he would not offend Michaels or the current cast of the series, but that he was "stunned".

"I just could not believe it," Chase said of the current show, which is scheduled for the 44th season. "It means that a whole generation of sisters are making fun of the worst humor in the world.

"You know what I mean, how could you dare to give this generation a worse worse than the one they already have in their lives? It drives me crazy," Chase told the newspaper.
The star of "Caddyshack", who participated in the show during her first season and a half, said that the series "went downhill" after her first two years on the air. "Why do I say that? Because I was in it? I guess."

After taking shots on the show as a whole, Chase criticized two of his former stars – especially Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.
