Chick-fil-A kills her cow calendar – and customers seem furious.

The fast-food chain alerted customers by email on Wednesday that 2018 would be the last year it would release its cattle-themed calendar, which offers offers for each month, reports The News & Observer in Raleigh, Carolina North.

Chick-fil-A's social networks have been inundated with retaliation by distraught customers.

"What am I hearing about getting rid of the cows calendar !!! I am so angry!" a person commented on Chick-fil-A's Facebook page.

"I am so disappointed with the retirement of the calendar," wrote another. "It's a Christmas gift tradition in our house (cows) My kids will be so disappointed."

"Please do not remove the calendar of cows!" a third wrote. "I'd always like to have one even without the monthly offers!"

"After celebrating 20 years of successful calendar of cows, we made the difficult decision to end the program at the end of 2018," said a Chick-fil-A representative to Business Insider in a statement .

"We never want to disappoint our customers, so we are sorry, but we will continue to look for new ways to serve our customers in a fun and creative way," the statement said. "For those who bought the calendar as a Christmas present, we will continue to offer Chick-fil-A gift cards as an alternative."

Chick-fil-A has made some adjustments to its offers in recent years as the chain has gone from a regional favorite to the largest chicken chain – through sales – in the United States. The chain has added menu items such as breakfast burritos and gluten-free rolls to the menu as it tries to appeal to more people.

But the chain also faced hostile reactions for some of the changes. In 2016, guests revolted when the classic barbecue sauce was removed from the menu, persuaded the company to bring back the sauce a few months later.
