In a rare move, a Chick-fil-A restaurant in North Carolina went to work Sunday to help Florence's relief efforts.
A Triangle Town Center site in Raleigh was opened Sunday to prepare meals while Florence continued to wreak havoc in the area, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson told Fox News.
"While Chick-fil-A restaurants are still closed for Sunday, some local catering teams are volunteering to serve their communities in times of crisis," the company said in a statement.

The Triangle Town Center restaurant thanked the employees for giving free time to the people devastated by the powerful storm.
"I am grateful for an AWESOME team that not only has hearts to serve our guests every day, but also to serve the community!", Released the restaurant on Facebook.

Chick-fil-A explains online why its restaurants are closed on Sundays.
"Our founder, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close his doors on Sunday in 1946, when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia," the company said on its website.
"Having worked seven days a week at 24-hour restaurants, Mr. Truett understood the importance of closing Sundays so that he and his employees could dedicate a day to rest and worship.
