FOXBOROUGH – With 3:03 left in the fourth quarter on Sunday night, the Chiefs scored on a 75-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes at Tyreek Hill, equalizing the football game shot at 40, coming off a 15-point deficit at the half-time in a match at the height of his hype

But they left too much time for Tom Brady and the Patriots. Brady found Rob Gronkowski, who had three receptions for 97 yards, most of them arriving late, allowing the striker to win the match. New England won 43-40, then 4-2, with a potentially big win against a rival AFC.

The Patriots took a 10-3 lead after Dont'a Hightower's interception allowed Sony Michel to easily score a touchdown and then rely on it with a touchdown by Julian Edelman and another Michel score for take a 24-9 lead at the break. Michel had another good game, with 106 yards on the ground.

In the second half, it was the Chiefs who scored touchdowns and the Patriots, initially, were content with three. It was a 67-yard touchdown pass to Kareem Hunt, then, after the teams traded goals, an easy touchdown for Tyreek Hill on a short field after Brady dropped the ball into one of his worst games of the season.

The city of Kansas City had the opportunity to tie the game with a successful two-point conversion, but opted for the goalkeeper's placement, scoring 27-26 Patriots in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots then qualified for a placement and the Chiefs who scored a touchdown with Hill scored three goals after Tremon Smith returned the ball to 97 yards from Stephen Gostkowski's goal on a score of 33-30.

Patriots 43, Chiefs 40 (0:00): On the first and 10 of the 48-meter Kansas City start line, Tom Brady made a perfect pass to Rob Gronkowski for a 39-meter gain. The Patriots took three seconds to play for Stephen Gostkowski and the veteran kicker did not disappoint. Gostkowski managed the 28-yard attempt at the end of the allotted time to give the Patriots victory.

Patriots 40, Chiefs 40 (3:03): In the first part of the Chiefs' training, Patrick Mahomes found Tyreek Hill and watched Hill Sprint for a 75-yard touchdown. Butker launched the extra point to tie the mark.

Patriots 40, Chiefs 33 (3:19): Stephen Gostkowski scored a touchdown between the two teams, scoring a 50-yard field goal from the posts. Tom Brady came into contact with Rob Gronkowski for 42 yards in the first practice game, before training stalled on an incomplete pass to Julian Edelman.

Patriots 37, counts 33 (4:05): The Patriots bombarded Patrick Mahomes in third and seventh place on the 28-meter Kansas City line, forcing the Chiefs' quarterback to throw a deep ball under pressure that Jason McCourty almost intercepted. Chiefs rang and Tom Brady and Co. took control of his own 21-yard line.

Patriots 37, Chiefs 33 (5:25): Tom Brady threw the jets to bring the Patriots to the top, keeping the ball itself and dipping between two defenders for a 4-yard touchdown. Brady's run was limited to a 7.7-meter game, including consecutive receptions for Chris Hogan, one for 42 yards and one for a 19-yard gain.

Heads 33, Patriots 30 (8:38): The Chiefs got a big boost from their special teams unit, while Terrance Smith sent Gostkowski off the New England 3-yard line. Two pieces later, Patrick Mahomes canceled a receiver but found another, Tyreek Hill, behind him for a happy touchdown that gave Kansas the advantage.

Patriots 30, Chiefs 26 (10:26): Stephen Gostkowski scored a 39-yard goal after the 54-yard Patriots stopped the game 11 yards on the 21-yard Kansas City line. Tom Brady sent an incomplete deep ball to James White the third and sixth and the pass interference flag that the Gillette Stadium crowd wanted never to appear.

Third quarter

Patriots 27, leaders 26 (0:56): Patrick Mahomes broadcast it to Tyreek Hill for a 14-yard touchdown. The Chiefs amassed their first run, a 15-yard gain from Sammy Watkins, before Mahomes capitalized on the court and cut the Patriots' one-point offense.

Patriots 27, Counts 19 (2:23): In the second half of the Patriots' training, Jordon Lucas, Chief Safety Officer, almost intercepted a first pass for Josh Gordon, but could not keep his potential. Two plays later, Kansas City still forced a turn-over, removing the ball from Tom Brady and recovering the fumble on the 29-yard line of New England.

Patriots 27, Chiefs 19 (3:36): The Chiefs finished fourth and two on New England's 12-yard line, but Andy Reid sent his kickoff instead of letting the offense go a second time. Butker divided the goal amounts on the 30-yard field to punctuate the 9 parts of the 51-yard run with three points.

Patriots 27, Chiefs 16 (5:42): Bill Belichick challenged the spot in one play after the referees had decided that Kansas City had made a first try at third base and another from the Chiefs' 46-yard line. The decision on the ground was reversed and the leaders decided to embark. Patrick Mahomes kept the ball himself and rushed for a 3-yard gain.

Patriots 27, Chiefs 16 (7:17): Stephen Gostkowski scored a 23-yard goal to limit the Patriots' run 12 yards and 65 yards. New England scored the first goal of the Kansas City 6-yard line, but was content with three points after a 1-meter run of Sony Michel and two consecutive Tom Brady fouls.

Patriots 24, Chiefs 16 (13:27): Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense needed only a minute and a half to make it a match to a possession. In the third game of the race, Mahomes found Kareem Hunt on the right side line for a 67-yard touchdown. Butker added an extra point while Kansas City was close to the Patriots' eight points.

The Patriots avoided turnover and penalties in the first half, a distinction that leaders could not claim. Kansas City returned the ball twice and gave Tom Brady 58 yards on five penalties, including a 37-yard interference that allowed Sony Michel to score the second touchdown of the night.

Patriots 24, Chiefs 9 (0:04): Patrick Mahomes, after separating the Patriots' defense en route to the New England 15-yard line, was picked up by Duron Harmon in a shot on goal in the end zone. Mahomes had six assists on nine 60-yard heats, including a 27-yard run with Tyreek Hill. The interception ended the first half.

Patriots 24, Chiefs 9 (1:57): On the 38-meter Kansas City line, Tom Brady shot deep into Josh Gordon in the end zone. Gordon was not able to win the pass, but a penalty for interference from the pass was held first and a goal from the 1 yard line for the Patriots. Two games later, Sony Michel propelled himself into the end zone for a touchdown, his second of the night.

Patriots 17, Chiefs 9 (6:21): The Patriots' defense went down but did not break inside the red zone, forcing the Chiefs to score a 24-yard field goal after 11.669 yards. Travis Kelce led Kansas City in that red zone, beating Duron Harmon on a 17-yard gain. However, Patrick Mahomes' pass to Sammy Watkins landed incomplete on 3rd and Goal.

Patriots 17, leaders 6 (12:52): Tom Brady managed a pass in the end zone corner, then followed the ball and celebrated a 17-yard touchdown with catcher Julian Edelman. The score came twice after Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones pulled the ball out of Brady's hands before center David Andrews picked up the ball for the Patriots.

First quarter

Patriots 10, Chiefs 6 (3:25): After Patrick Mahomes overtook Travis Kelce 3rd and 4th on the 24-yard New England line, Harrison Butker opened the scoring on a 43-yard field goal to narrow the gap between the two teams. Mahomes had found offensive midfielder Kareem Hunt for a 25-yard gain in the first game of training.

Patriots 10, Chiefs 3 (4:57): After Donta'a Hightower's play after a pass from Patrick Mahomes in the middle of the pitch for Travis Kelce, Sony Michel led the way for a four-yard Patriots touchdown. Hightower returned the 26-yard interception to Kansas City's 4-yard line, and Gostkowski added the extra point.

Patriots 3, Chiefs 3 (5:18): Stephen Gostkowski posted a 48-yard field goal to tie the game. The attack allowed Tom Brady to complete two of the three assists and Rob Gronkowski scored a defensive defense penalty. But the reader stalled when a connection between Brady and Chris Hogan at third and 10 generated 7 yards. Sony Michel had 20 yards on three other titles.

Chiefs 3, Patriots 0 (9:05): Harrison Butker of Kansas City scored a 42-yard goal to limit his run to a 35-yard run. Patrick Mahomes made the most of his short field position, completing three passes as the Chiefs led the way.

Patriots 0, Heads 0 (12:26): Tom Brady's fourth and third-place passes on the 40-yard Kansas City line are incomplete. The pass was aimed at receiver Josh Gordon, the same double Brady, who was aiming for a 12-yard gain in the first scrimmage match.
