China did not reveal Wednesday whether it was offering financial assistance to Pakistan after the end of the visit of its Prime Minister, Imran Khan, intended to solicit new Chinese loans to face the economic crisis in the country.

A day after the end of Khan's four-day visit to China, Pakistan's Finance Minister Asad Umar said Beijing has offered $ 6 billion in loans to Islamabad to solve the country's economic crisis.

"We told you about the $ 12 billion financing gap, of which $ 6 billion came from Saudi Arabia and the rest of China, so the immediate crisis in Pakistan's balance of payments has come to an end. to make it clear: We do not have a balance of payments crisis, "said Umar, who accompanied Khan to China.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not give a clear answer when asked questions about it.

"Pakistan is China's all-weather partner, we have a very good relationship, a high-level relationship, and we offer our assistance to Pakistan as best we can." Hua Chunying, spokesman for the ministry, said.

"In light of Pakistan's needs in the future, in accordance with mutual agreement, we will continue to help economically and in other sectors," Hua said.

During Khan's visit, China said it would do its best to help its ally, Pakistan, to "overcome financial difficulties."

Pakistan is in a deep economic mess with an ever increasing external debt. Khan had gone in search of new Chinese loans after getting $ 6 billion from Saudi Arabia.
