On Tuesday, M & M's announced the release of M & M's Spread Hazelnuts. OK, so the chocolatier is not going to use authentic Nutella in her candies, but the brand has been so successful last year with its M & M Caramel!

Early testers of the new flavor said the sweets had a "creamy chocolate and hazelnut center", but that "the taste was lacking" and "they had a strange taste," according to The Daily Meal.

The M & M Spread Hazelnuts will not be available on the shelves until April 2019, but that might not be such a bad thing. Maybe the first testers had a bad lot … but otherwise, there is still time for the company to change its wording if the taste testers are correct.

Although most people will have to wait until next year to try Nutella-inspired sweets, there are other new products that can be tried earlier – and early taste testers are delighted.
