Chris Carson Fantasy: Should we start or sit the Seahawks RB?

As the 10th week of the NFL season approaches, fantasy football players and Seattle Seahawks have shared the same concern. Offensive back Chris Carson, who had excelled in recent weeks, was ruled out for the Los Angeles Rams game. After accumulating more than 100 rushing yards in three out of four games, Carson eventually left at half-time at halftime due to a hip injury. Even in this game, a possible defeat against the Los Angeles Chargers, impressed the 24-year-old.

In total, in the last five games (technically four and a half), Carson has received 98 runs for 422 yards and one touchdown. He has emerged as the best option in the Seahawks' run, a role that is generally not easy to win in a team led by Pete Carroll. Unfortunately, Carson's injury to the Chargers was a setback to his chaotic departure and left his doubts about his immediate availability, even beyond week 10.

After missing this game, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times revealed that Carroll had stated that he expected Carson to be ready for the Thursday 11th game against the Green Bay Packers. Although this is great news for the young back, it creates a tricky tricky situation. The emergence of Rashaad Penny against the Rams can not be neglected and the three backs (including Mike Davis) should be available against the Packers.

That said, let's see if fantasy players should start or sit at Carson during the 11th week of the Thursday night prime time game.

Do you have to start or sit Chris Carson?

The situation with Penny worries me from a fantastic point of view. He's pairing his last game, which included 12 runs for 108 yards and a touchdown with the Seahawks getting Carson back, which worries him. At the same time, Seattle certainly did not use choice # 27 in the NFL draft on a player for which they have no interest in continuing to play.

In the Rams' week 10 game, Penny received 27 offensive shots (by Football Outsiders). That number was behind Davis 39, although the former was much more productive. One of the pluses of this situation is that the rookie was active in the 9th week when Carson left at halftime. In the first half of this match, Carson still had eight runs for 40 yards. So, if we can expect more than 15 attempts, this is a safe game.

Whether starting or sitting in Carson this week, it depends on your particular situation. The Packers were in the middle of the pack against the back half, giving 864 yards and seven touchdowns to 186 attempts. They also gave 41 receptions for 359 yards and a score, thanks to ESPN.

I can very well use the Seahawks as flexible runners in leagues of 12 or more teams, assuming this is your best option. The showdown does not scare me and Carson's potential is more than attractive, so it's certainly at stake.
