Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale was released from hospital on Monday after spending the night on observation because of a stomach ailment.
The team announced its illness in Sunday's second game of the American League series, the day after match 1 of the series at Fenway Park.
Sale, who was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital, will join the team in Houston on Tuesday.
"From what I know, it does not matter, but obviously, every time you have to go to the hospital, you have to be worried," said the coach of the Red Sox, Alex Cora, at the end of the second match. "But he should be good news in the next few hours and he will join us in Houston".
The left handed four innings and was eliminated Saturday night against the Houston Astros, scoring one goal and two points, with four walks and five strikeouts. Sale was scheduled to play the fifth game Thursday in Houston.
