It took little time for the UFC to reinstate Chris Weidman after Luke Rockhold had to withdraw from their fight at the head of the UFC 230.

Shortly after the announcement Friday that Rockhold was absent due to an injury, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza agreed to give up his fight with UFC 230 with David Branch and intervene to maintain Weidman in the same group. Now, Weidman and Jacare will be throwing themselves at UFC 230 on Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Weidman looked forward to revenge after losing to Rockhold at his first meeting almost three years ago. It was a loss he had wanted to avenge, and a victory that would have made him return to the bargain for the title if he had won.

He should still have aspirations for the championship if he beats Jacare, since he is ranked No. 3 in the division and Jacare sits at No. 5. Anyway, Weidman addressing Rockhold who is withdraw from the fight.
