The city of Goleta declared the state of emergency for the city because of the holiday fire. Only a small portion of the fire touched the city's boundary line, but was repelled by firefighters, and no other part of the fire burned in the city.

We have been able to save many animals and we escorted a team to the center to save the rest of our birds and our limited supplies.Most of our animals were saved and they are kept in different places.

Helicopters were spotted over areas of fire in the Goleta area. No water drip or delay has been spotted yet, but one is expected to part from Saturday's firefighting efforts.

Firefighters stated that the holiday fire is contained at 5% and 60 acres were burned. Mandatory evacuations remain in place. At a fire information session on Saturday morning, firefighters were informed that the progression of the flames had stopped.

Southern California Edison says that fewer than 734 guests in the area near the holiday fire are without power. At one point, 2,770 customers were without electricity in the area. Several power lines are down. SCE teams work to restore energy where they can.

Santa Barbara County has declared a local emergency because of the burning Christmas fire in the city. region north of Goleta.
The county says that 3,200 people live in the area being evacuated due to the fire. The director of county emergency services declared the proclamation of emergency. It is expected to be ratified by the Board of Supervisors at its next meeting on Tuesday, 10 July.
The proclamation of a state of local emergency ensures that the county's resources are available to suppress the fire.

Firefighters They fight a fast fire that set off in the Goleta Hills in the 1500 block of Holiday Hills.
It was reported around 8:40 Friday night just off Cathedral Oaks and Fairview.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says that multiple structures are under threat and that mandatory evacuations are underway. If you are in the area and see the fire or you feel threatened, leave immediately.

Mike Eliason, spokesman for County Fire, confirmed that there are structures that burn. A house is engulfed on 1400 BLK from Holiday Hill Road. Others burn on a nearby hill.
The region is experiencing strong winds. We hear that these winds are firing straight at Fairview towards American Highway 101.
The fire is called the Holiday Fire. The sheriff's department of Santa Barbara County posted on social media that the fire started in a house and then spread to nearby bushes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross sets up a shelter for evacuees at the Goleta Valley Community Center at 5679 Hollister Avenue.
