Every city has its sacred spaces. We are Fountain Square – a place of joy and protest and gathering. The actions of a sick man do not change that. This is not what our city is. I'll have lunch tomorrow on Fountain Square, keeping in mind the true character of Cincinnati.

Police officer unloaded weapons. No injured officer.

The tragic situation at Fountain Square – we are told that two are dead – it is thought that it is the shooter. Many others in critical condition. Police continue to search the area. If in town – shelter in place. If you are in town, please call or send a text message to your loved ones so that they know you are safe

The police secured the scene. Pray for the victims and our city. More details to emerge, but our first responders, the police, firefighters, seem to have done an incredible job this morning. We are grateful to them and all that they do.

Please note that Fountain Square is currently closed due to a violent attack in downtown Fifth Third Bank. Unfortunately, several individuals were shot dead, there were two confirmed deaths. Our prayers are with the families of all the people involved.
