Heavy rain overnight means that water rises, causing the cancellation of school in Texas City.
Texas City ISD canceled the school for Tuesday because of high tide.
Due to flooding in and around TCISD, we are canceling the school by September 11, 2018.

The College of the Mainland announced its closure Tuesday due to flooding.
The neighboring Dickinson and Clear Creek school districts are in class, but bus lines may be delayed.
We are experiencing minor bus delays due to weather conditions. CCISD operates according to a normal schedule today.

According to meteorologist Travis Herzog, some areas of Galveston County have received up to six inches of rain.
