WASHINGTON –
Nearly 50,000 pounds of pork sausage was recalled by the state of Ohio, Bob Evans Farms, Inc., said Thursday the US Food Safety and Inspection Service of Agricultural Products.

In a statement, the US Department of Agriculture said Bob Evans was recalling 46,734 pounds of pork sausage because it could be contaminated with pieces of hard plastic.
The five items that are recalled were produced on August 1, according to the statement.
These are the recalled products:

12 ounce overpack trays labeled Bob Evans Maple Pork Sausage Links.

12 ounce trays labeled "Sugar Brown & Honey" by Bob Evans. These products contain an expiration date of October 16, 2018 and a lot code of 8213.

12 ounce overpack trays labeled "Fresh from Meijer maple flavored sausage ties". These products contain an expiry date of September 6, 2018 and lot code of 8213.

12 ounce trays labeled "Giant Eagle Maple Pork Breakfast". Added caramel color. These products contain an expiration date of September 10, 2018 and a lot code of 8213.

12 ounce overpack trays labeled "Breakfast sausage with Schnucks maple recipe". These products contain a lot code of 8213.
The affected products have been shipped to retail outlets in Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania. Virginia and Wisconsin.
