“The 52nd Annual CMA Awards” (8 p.m., ABC): Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood apparently love this gig because they’re hosting it for the 11th straight year. The performance list for what is gleefully touted as “country music’s biggest night” includes Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and more. Chris Stapleton leads the pack of nominees with five, including Entertainer of the Year.

“Empire” (8 p.m., Fox): In an effort to bridge the gap between Lyon Family Management and Empire, Lucious must play nice with Jeff Kingsley, so that the two companies can get girl group TBD back on the map. Meanwhile, Jamal grows frustrated with Cookie when she tries to steal his London artist, Wynter (guest star Joss Stone), out from under him.

“Riverdale” (8 p.m.,The CW): After weeks go by with no contact from Archie, Veronica devises a dangerous plan to break him out of juvie. Meanwhile, when Betty learns that Jughead has taken their investigation into Griffins & Gargoyles a step too far, she finds herself in a race against the clock to save him.

“Chicago Med” (8 p.m., NBC): Dr. Charles struggles to convince Dr. Choi that surgery isn’t always the answer. Dr. Rhodes finds himself in hot water with Goodwin when he disobeys her direct order. April becomes frustrated with Maggie when she continues to question her leadership role as the stand-in charge nurse. Dr. Manning suspects Dr. Halstead is keeping something from her.

“Nova: Thai Cave Rescue” (9 p.m., PBS): The series recalls last July’s harrowing operation to rescue 12 boys stranded in a flooded cave in Thailand, and presents the scientific ingenuity that made the rescue possible. Hear how rescuers explored every option — from pumping out water, to drilling a new exit, to ultimately cave-diving with the children through the treacherous, flooded passages.

“All American” (9 p.m., The CW): Spencer’s worlds come together to celebrate his birthday in Beverly Hills. But mixing the dysfunctional families – with the dash of an unexpected guest – ends in disaster. Olivia and Jordan, on a mission to uncover a family secret, discover a missing link to their father’s past.  Meanwhile, Coop and Patience (guest star Chelsea Tavares) struggle to define their blossoming romance.

“Criminal Minds” (10 p.m., CBS): It’s literally a race against the clock for the BAU to capture the vigilantes behind a series of attacks taking place every 27 minutes in the nation’s capital. Prentiss and Unit Chief Andrew Mendoza lead the effort to identify the Unsubs and what’s motivating them.

“Origin” (YouTube Premium): This new drama series introduces viewers to a group of troubled passengers as they wake up on a damaged spaceship abandoned in deep space. Each having left behind a dark past in search of a fresh start on a newly colonized planet, they’re desperate to survive at all costs. But as their terrifying situation spirals into paranoia, they come to realize that the greatest threat to their dream of starting over — and indeed their lives — might actually be within their midst.
